Our comfortable birthing suites are enhanced by our family-centered philosophy. We value the family as a unit and want to facilitate their bonding during this time - whether it is new fathers spending the night on the pullout beds in the patient rooms or siblings and/or fathers being present during the birth experience.

If your baby needs extra care, our Siena and San Martín campuses offer the latest in technology and compassionate care to ensure your newborn gets the care he or she needs.

The Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Siena Campus offers the highest level of neonatal treatment available. This modern, comfortable 15-bed Level III NICU is the only Level III NICU in the southern part of the Las Vegas valley and features the most advanced technology for monitoring sick and/or premature newborns. Our caring, compassionate NICU staff provides a full range of neonatal treatment for medically fragile infants.

Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
services are available at the San Martín Campus.

Mothers giving birth to high risk babies can receive care at the San Martín  campus where the Level II nursery provides advanced care for premature and ill infants born at 32 weeks or above. The Level II NICU features advanced technology and board-certified neonatologists who tend infants 24 hours a day. The San Martín Campus houses a 6-bed Level II NICU.

A support group of highly trained specialists, high tech equipment and well-equipped birthing suites ensure added safety for high risk and cesarean births.

Having a baby can be both exciting and stressful. At St. Rose, we believe in attentive care which is why during the post-delivery stay, one nurse cares for the mother and her baby together.

St. Rose's informed parent philosophy extends to the bedside, where instructional classes are offered including infant care, new mother care, breastfeeding, nutrition and other pertinent topics.

New mothers also have a number of "freedoms" in how they deliver their babies. They can choose to deliver in an unconventional position, to walk or sit during labor or to opt for or against an intravenous tube during the birth process.

St. Rose Dominican Hospitals, through its WomensCare Centers, also offers a variety of programs for soon-to-be parents, moms, dads and families as well as programs for after baby arrives, including breastfeeding support.

Families can take a number of birth-related classes through the WomensCare Centers, including: Prepared Childbirth, Breast Feeding Instruction, Baby Basics/CPR, and Sibling and Parenting classes. Some of the classes are taught by the same nurses who work in the Maternal Child Centers, giving parents a familiar face when they arrive to have the baby.
