The journey of St. Rose Dominican Hospitals - from its inception in 1947 to its remarkable growth into the new millennium - is one inspired by timeless values. Those values are firmly rooted in the hospital's founders, the Dominican Sisters of Adrian, whose even more remarkable legacy of service to the poor, sick and oppressed is a tradition dating back to 12th century France.
The Rose de Lima Campus was originally built by the government to service the area plant workers and their families. The Dominican Sisters of Adrian purchased the hospital in 1947 for $1 a year for 25 years. The deal stipulated that the Sisters had to operate the hospital for those 25 years.
Today, more than 60 years later, the Rose de Lima Campus is a vital part of the Henderson community. The hospital offers myriad inpatient and outpatient services, and it is our policy to provide care for all patients regardless of their ability to pay.
In April 2010, the Rose de Lima Campus was recognized as a top performing hospital in the MIDAS+ Platinum Quality Award program based on 2009 performance.
According to a Consumer Reports™ analysis (Feb. 2010), the Rose de Lima Campus
was one of only two hospitals in Nevada that reported zero central-line bloodstream
infections in a minimum of 1,000 central-line days.
The Rose de Lima Campus has been recognized by HealthInsight
as #1 in the state for quality measures* (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009)
