Neurosurgery

St. Rose is First in Las Vegas Valley to Use New Technology

Following St. Rose's tradition of providing the latest in technology and quality care, the hospital began a neurosurgery program in 2004. A team of world-class neurosurgeons, anesthesiologists and support staff have been assembled to treat the brain and spine, using the most advanced equipment available.

Some of the most common reasons for neurosurgery are tumors in the brain or spine, scoliosis and intracranial bleeds.

Neuroscience services offered at the three St. Rose campuses include stroke and spine care, in-patient rehabilitation services (at the Rose de Lima Campus) and migraine/headache care (at the Joint Commission Certified "Inpatient Headache Program" at the San Martín Campus). Pediatric services are also available at St. Rose - cases performed by a pediatric neurosurgeon specially trained to work with children.

The neurosurgery department at St. Rose is the only hospital in southern Nevada to use VectorVision by BrainLAB, a highly advanced computer-guided imaging system that enables neurosurgeons to access anywhere in the brain or spine with extreme accuracy.

St. Rose Neurosurgery Clinic

St. Rose Dominican Hospitals has collaborated with Stanford Hospital & Clinics, one of the country’s most respected medical institutions, to enhance adult and pediatric neurological services in southern Nevada with the opening of the St. Rose Neurosurgery Clinic.

The affiliation with Stanford Hospital & Clinics marks the first time the well-known medical institution has ventured out of California for a clinical collaboration. The partnership will combine the high levels of quality and community trust already established at St. Rose Dominican Hospitals with the world-renowned expertise of Stanford in the treatment of neurological disorders at St. Rose. The clinic will be staffed by established local physicians who have joined Stanford faculty, bringing a sought after medical specialty to southern Nevadans.
