(March 25, 2010, Las Vegas, Nev.) – St. Rose Dominican Hospitals is seeking volunteers to help in its San Martín Campus Gift Shop – gift shop volunteers need to be able to work in a retail atmosphere.
Some retail experience would be most desirable. Volunteers need to have great customer service skills, a positive attitude and a friendly smile. Job responsibilities would include unpacking and pricing merchandise, handling money and being able to run a cash register.
Volunteers work four-hour shifts in the mornings, afternoons and evenings, including the weekends. As a not-for-profit hospital, there is no tax charged on sales, and all of proceeds go right back to the hospital to help support vital services.
“As a gift shop volunteer, you will find that sometimes it isn’t always about selling something to a customer, it can often be a place for someone to escape the stress that comes from being in the hospital or having a loved one there,” said Jamie Terry, director of volunteer services and gift shops. “Our shops can be a place for people to come and take a break to get their minds off of things.”
