St. Rose Dominican Health Foundation Names New President

(HENDERSON, NV, February 7, 2008) - St. Rose Dominican Health Foundation, the non-profit organization responsible for St. Rose Dominican Hospitals' fundraising, announces the appointment of Charles Guida as president. In this capacity, Guida will be responsible for planning, organizing, managing and executing the fundraising programs for St. Rose Dominican Hospitals.

"We are delighted that Charlie Guida is joining the St. Rose Dominican Health Foundation. He will provide the leadership needed to take the Foundation forward while ensuring that the mission of our fundraising system remains sound," said Rod Davis, president, St. Rose Dominican Hospitals. "His leadership style and vision will infuse new fervor into an already excellent fundraising team."

Guida has more than 20 years of fundraising leadership experience and was most recently chief philanthropy officer for the Rhode Island Hospital Foundation in Providence where he was responsible for identifying, cultivating and soliciting major gifts of $100,000 or more for both the pediatric (Hasbro Children’s Hospital) and adult divisions of Rhode Island Hospital. Guida worked with trustees, development committee members, senior administrators, staff and volunteers to develop and coordinate the hospital's fundraising strategies. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications then a Master of Business Administration, both from Villanova University.

The St. Rose Dominican Health Foundation is a 509 (a)(3) that exists solely to support St. Rose Dominican Hospitals' mission of healing people and strengthening communities through fundraising and relationship building. Funds raised assist with the purchase of hospital equipment such as the da Vinci® Surgical System and expansion efforts such as the new Level II and III Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs). They also help support the hospital's community outreach programs for uninsured and underinsured individuals and families, such as the R.E.D. Rose program for breast cancer screenings and treatments and the Family to Family Connection Program for new parents.
