St. Rose Hosts 51st Annual Mardi Gras Ball
(January 21, 2008, Henderson, NV) - St. Rose Dominican Hospitals and the St. Rose Dominican Health Foundation will host the 51st Annual Mardi Gras Ball on Saturday, February 2, 2008, at the Bellagio.
The Mardi Gras Ball is the longest running fundraising ball in Southern Nevada with proceeds benefiting the services and community outreach efforts of St. Rose Dominican Hospitals, southern Nevada's only not-for-profit, religiously affiliated hospital.
"This year's theme is inspired by the Asian cultures, many of which are steeped in traditions that date back thousands of years," said Rod Davis, president, St. Rose Dominican Hospitals. "These cultures have found ways to embrace progress and change while remaining true to their roots. Like them, St. Rose has maintained its core mission and values for more than half a century while continuing to seek higher quality and more advanced technologies."
The Mardi Gras Ball will feature three separate auctions throughout the evening:
- 6:00-7:30 p.m.: a silent auction during the cocktail party;
- 7:30-9:00 p.m.: an interactive video auction during dinner – the only one of its kind in Las Vegas; and
- 9:00 p.m.: a live auction.
"This year's honorees are Lou and Elayne LaPorta, strong supporters of St. Rose Dominican Hospitals since our not-for-profit healthcare ministry began in 1947," said Charles Guida, president, St. Rose Health Foundation. "In fact, Elayne LaPorta gave birth to the first baby born at Rose de Lima. The LaPorta's generous spirit of giving has helped shape both our hospital and the community."
Tables of 10 for the Mardi Gras Ball are $5,000, $7,000, $10,000 or $12,000. Individual tickets are also available at $500 per person.
