Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation services include prevention, education, rehabilitation and wellness maintenance. These programs, supported by funding from the E. L. Weigand Foundation, use the highest quality exercise and telemetry equipment available.
"St. Rose Dominican Hospitals offers complete cardiac programs between two of our campuses," said Syd Rubecamp, Cardiology Director. "We are 'Cardiac Centers of Excellence' which meet the highest national standards for services, staff and technology. Our Open Heart Surgery programs at the San Martín and Siena Campuses further expand the full line of cardiac services available at St. Rose."
Current Cardiovascular services available at St. Rose:
-
Cardiac catheterization: Coronary angioplasty, coronary stents, including drug-eluding stents, rotoblator and thrombectomy (procedures used to open or repair a blocked coronary artery, which can cause a heart attack)
-
Cardiac rehabilitation: Skilled staff members work with patients to modify risk factors and lifestyle patterns that may contribute to heart disease. These changes include diet, exercise and stress management. Outpatient cardiac rehabilitation is located in St. Rose's Parkway Medical Plaza at 100 N. Green Valley Parkway
-
Echocardiography: Ultrasound images show detailed analyses of abnormalities within the heart chambers, pulmonary arteries and valves
-
EKG/cardiac stress testing: Recording electrical activity of the heart while resting or during treadmill or chemically induced stress
-
Open Heart Surgery: Open heart surgery centers feature dedicated operating suites and state-of-the-art equipment
-
Telemetry: Monitoring of patient's vital signs on an outpatient basis
-
Volcano Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS): IVUS is considered the gold standard in the next generation of technologies for treating heart disease. Traditional angiograms show shadows of the heart vessels that represent plaque build up that may be narrowing or obstructing an artery. IVUS technology goes a step further and produces highly-detailed images of the arteries from the inside out.
