St. Rose Offers a Full Range of Radiology Services

The Radiology Department at St. Rose not only contains state-of-the-art equipment but also professional, caring, compassionate technologists and support staff. Each member of the department is dedicated to making our patients feel comfortable during procedures. Following is a list of radiology services available at St. Rose:

  • Computed Tomography (CT Scanning) - Combines the most advanced technology in electronics and computer science to produce X-ray images of a thin cross-section of the body. CT scanning can eliminate the need for exploratory surgery.

  • 64-Slice CT scanner - Offered at the Siena Campus, the 64-slice scanner reduces procedure time from 20 minutes to 10 or 20 seconds, thus reducing the amount of radiation and exam time for patients.

  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) - Uses a powerful magnetic field (instead of X-ray) in conjunction with radio waves to produce more detailed pictures of the body.

  • Nuclear Medicine - Provides diagnostic information about the anatomy and function of bodily organs. Can show even minor abnormalities in an organ's structure and is one of the safest diagnostic tests available.

  • Mammography - Uses a low dose X-ray to identify breast cancer early in its development - before it can be felt as a lump. Our facilities are certified by the FDA and accredited by the American College of Radiology.

  • Digital Mammography - The Siena and San Martín Campuses use all digital mammography which produces a clearer image in less time.

  • Ultrasound - Uses sound waves to produce an instantaneous image of the body that appears on a video screen. Well-suited for use with children, evaluating pregnancy and as a screening tool.

  • Bi-Plane, Flat Panel Detector - The Siena Campus offers a bi-plane, flat panel detector for the study and treatment of brain abnormalities such as aneurysms and carotid stenosis.
